What is your opinion on Gordon Ramsey and his swearing? Should he stop? Would it be Gordon Ramsey without the swearing? What do you think generally about swearing? Is it just part of everyday life? Are we lazy and swear because we cannot think of another word? Does it make us look big?

Answer:

Despite being one of the world’s most famous chefs, Gordon claims that he’s not putting any pressure on his young brood to follow his career path.

But he has, from an early age, made sure they know their way around a kitchen and thinks every family should do the same.

He said: “Even if they never follow in my footsteps and decide not to go down that route as a career, learning to cook for yourself, for me, is so important.

“Not just to set them up for the rest of their lives but to understand how to eat properly – and not just through fine ingredients that cost a fortune.

“I cannot tell you how important it is just to learn how to cook for yourself. I think it should be part of the educational curriculum where they need to understand how to cook, somewhere from the ages of six to 16

yes he should stop. Gordon has always been known for swearing. Swearing seems to be getting more common over time. Swearing can be socially useful — but can also backfire so we need to swear only once in a while. When words fail us, we curse.

swearing is the “sign of a weak vocabulary”, a result of a lack of education, laziness or impulsiveness. In line with this idea, we tend to judge vulgarians quite harshly, rating them as lower on socio-intellectual status, less effective at their jobs and less friendly.

so we need to use it wisely
