hilum-scar on the seed coat which is formed by attachment to ovary wall
micropyle-opening in a seed where pollen tube enters into ovule
it's function is to facilitate the pollen tube into the ovule so egg gets fertilised..

A seed coat has a small opening present through which it absorbs water in order to start germination, this opening is micropyle and this is through where the root comes out from when germination occurs moreover, hilum is a scar present on the seed coat and this is where the seed is attached to the pod.
