There is no solution via politicians to anything in this world. So, let us not FIGHT out with the other state - whether Karnataka, Kerala or Lakshadweep. Things to do would be:

All educated and good Samaritans/ citizens will first develop an undying attitude of LIVE and LET OTHERS LIVE.

Never talk politics as a start to any solution. Politics is to be kept as the last stone. After accepting these two points, you may please read further

ONLY then, look for ways for water harvesting in their own local areas first and preserving all sources of water starting from wells, pools, lakes etc.

Implement water harvest effectively and look for taking action on maintaining the water reservoirs via public private partnership. It will do more good than blaming just the state government for poor maintenance/ management of reservoirs.

Build effective reservoirs or dams at places where more water an be conserved (if it is worth the effort).

Talk to the Centre (Government) about better water resource integration programmes and look for ways to implement across the country. There are good ways to do it, if we start thinking of it. These are not written to fantasise people with ideas, but are well thought out things. There are workable solutions, but the base of implementation is good attitude.

If India will not be one India now, then when?

If one Indian cannot let other Indian live now then when?

If we can’t STOP fighting those petty fights today, the world will always be laughing at us.

Let people of each state at least manage their own local resources effectively as a first step. Then the larger picture will automatically be aligned.
