They are alumino silicates. Their general formula is Mxn[(AlO2)x(SiO2)y] z. H2O, where n is charge on metal cation, z is number of water molecules metal cation in zeolites are generally Na^+, K^+ and Ca²+. Sodium alumino silicate is a general zeolite.
