Hello here is the answer
A method of purifying a crystalline solid , typically a semi conductor or metal causing a narrow molten zone to travel slowly along an otherwise solid rod bar to one another

Hey !!

The impurities are more soluble in the molten state than in the solid of the metal. The impure metal is heated with the help of a circular mobile heater at one end. This results in the formation of a molten zone or melt. As the heater is moved along the length of the rod, the pure metal crystallises our of the melt and impurities pass into the adjacent molten zone. This process is repeated several times till the impurities are completely driven to one end of the rod which is the cut off and discarded. This method is very useful for producing semicondcutor and other metals of very high purity.

Example :- Silicon , Boron , Gallium and Germanium.
