Dalton's atomic theory was the first complete attempt to describe all matter in terms of atoms and their properties. Dalton based his theory on the law of conservation of mass and the law of constant composition. The first part of his theory states that all matter is made of atoms, which are indivisible.

In "The Chuck Darwin Show" Charles tells us how, "up there," a new theory of evolution emerged. Famous scientists--Galileo, Leibnitz, Mendeleev, Einstein, Darwin's grandfather Erasmus--each makes his distinctive contribution. Together they forge a string of connections linking today's sciences to consciousness and the self. Charles has to come back down, they insist, to show us how with this new theory we can find new meaning in life
