Binary fission :

Binary fission is a type of asexual reproduction which includes only one parent.

In this method the nucleus of the parent body elongates and streched to divide and form 2 daughter nuclei.

Only daughter cells are formed during this process.

The organisms that follow this mode of reproduction are :

  • Ameoba
  • Paramoecium
  • Euglena

Supplementary information :

  • There are two methods of reproduction :
  1. Sexual
  2. Asexual

  • Asexual reproduction happens with only one parent. Organisms like hydra , starfish , amoeba and yeast , etc. follow this way.

  • Sexual reproduction consists of two parents where each of its gametes fuse to form a zygote and further an organism. Humans , dogs , cats , birds go under this mode.

The mother cell which divides into two daughter cells during the process of reproduction in which the mother cell is one of the daughter cell.(Eg.amoeba)

Explanation:

The cells first give a constriction in the middle, which marks the starting of the fission process, then the nucleous, plasmid and the other macro cells of the cell body divides.
