What keeps the various organs and organ systems separate from each other? how?

Answer: Organ is defined as the cluster of different tissues ( which are made of cells having same form and function) that work together in a coordinated manner so as to perform a specific function.  

Example- Stomach, intestine, mouth, salivary gland, pancreas.

On the other hand, organ system comprises of different organs performing related or interdependent functions.

Example- Digestive system is an organ system that comprises of organs like Mouth, salivary glands, esophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, small intestine, and large intestine, which all work in a coordination to perform the digestion of food that is ingested by the organism.
