(D) Control key must be pressed to allow multiple selections of files that are interspersed with files that should not be selected.

When we have to select multiple files from a location that are not together or mixed with files that we don't want to select then we use the control key while selecting.

To do so we have to press the control key along with selecting the file and in that way, we can select multiple files. Once completed you can leave the control key and all the files will be remained selected.
