Heya mate ☺✌✌✌....

The narrator , James Herriot , is a veterinary surgeon. he is a practical minded person who deals with the people and situation sensibly and smartly and it could be known from the instances of the story.. he has immense common sense as he understood tricki's ailment when he saw him on discerning that the main reason of it was overfeeding , he realized that he won't be able to treat tricki properly if it was with Mrs. Pumphrey. . So , he decided to take tricki out of the house and suggested that it needed to be hospitalized for about a fortnight to be kept under observation which made it clear that he was tactful in his ways of dealing with Mrs. Pumphrey. he was helpful in the way he treats tricki as he know it need to get recovered from his illness.. moreover , he was wise enough to use eggs , wine and brandy which were sent by Mrs. Pumphrey for tricki , and shared them with his partners during having the meals .........

hope it helps u!!!!!!☺✌✌✌

Answer:

The narrator, a veterinary surgeon, is a capable and wise doctor. He handles Tricki properly which shows that he is sincere about his profession. He does not operate upon the dog unnecessarily and cures him by altering his diet and activities. He is a tactful person as he knew exactly how to convince Mrs Pumphrey to hospitalise Tricki for a surgery. His decision to inform Mrs Pumphrey to collect Tricki supports his sensibilities even though he was tempted to keep Tricki as a permanent guest.
