Mrs. Pearson was a caring mother and dedicated wife. She enjoyed serving her husband and children. She was ignored and made to work throughout the day. In spite of their ill treatment, neglect and exploitation, she loved them all. In fact, for that she endured everything without any murmur or protest. We feel sympathy for her. We wish her to be a little more assertive. However, Mrs. Fitzgerald brought about a change in her personality. She helped her to become more assertive and dominating at the end.
