Stick and paper undergo chemical change because we cannot convert stick back to its original form when it us converted into paper, same as when we burn paper it converts into ash and cannot be irreversible .

Chemical change is known as permanent change, it is an irreversible change .

When any substance undergo chemical change ,many chemical reactions takes place with that substance resulting in formation of new substance

For example: Ripening of fruits, making chappattis from dough, burning of paper.
