Zitkala-sa's experience depicted that she faced racial discrimination.
- Zitkala-sa was a Red-indian writer. She faced racial discrimination at a very young age from all the people around her.
- The European missionary school which she joined, had white people in huge population ,who forced her to follow their culture and tradition, regardless of her feelings for her nativity.
- When she attended her schools she faced humiliations from her warden too.
- She faced humiliations and was ill treated at school due to her appearance, she felt hurt and offenly broke into tears but nobody came forward as a helping hand.
- She had long and beautiful hair which was her pride but when she came between the whites ,her hair was shingled.
- Rather , everyone made her feel lonely and useless because she wasn't among the white people.
Her responses to her situations were heart-warming:
- No matter how much hardships and discrimination she faced from everyone even her missionary school, she worked hard for her needs.
- Although she faced hatred from her warden in missionary school which she hated , she always had to abide by the rules and regulations and she never disobeyed.
