what kind of election constitutes a democratic election

owaistil2u4e: Elections make a fundamental contribution to democraticgovernance. Because directdemocracy—a form of government in which political decisions are made directly by the entire body of qualified citizens—is impractical in most modern societies, democraticgovernment must be conducted through representatives.

Answer:

Universal Adult Franchise is a very courageous step towards election where everyone who is 18 or more than 18 years old are given equal rights to vote without any discrimination on the basis of gender, colour, caste, race, the society they belong to etc.So it can be considered as a democratic way of election.

The election constitutes a democratic election:

The following are the minimum requirements for a democratic election:

  • Everyone should have the opportunity to select their representative.
  • Parties and candidates should be free to run for office and voters should have a meaningful choice.
  • After a few years, elections must be held regularly.
  • The people's favorite candidate should be elected.
  • Elections should be held in a free and fair way, allowing people to vote their hearts out.
