Kinetic energy.

Kinetic energy is the energy due to motion.

For example - if a truck is moving with a constant velocity of 72m/s and while coming down from a slope it hits a box which was in the middle of the road.

The box will be displaced.

  • Hence we can say work is done.
  • As the force acts on a box and it is displaced .
  • So if a work is done a energy is needed.
  • This energy is kinetic energy.
  • It's SI unit is joule.
  • Formula is 1/2mv^2.
