Desert plant prepares "Organic acid intermediate" at night to perform photosynthesis in the next day.

The stored organic acid is Malic acid or Aspartic acid at maximum case. It is stored in the bundle sheath cells and while necessary these are converted to CO2 and 3-Carbon molecule. This CO2 enters Calvin pathway where glucose is formed.

Hope you're helped.

These plants accumulate organic acid intermediate during the night to be used during the daytime. This pathway is called Crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM) and the plants which carry out crassulacean metabolism are termed CAM plants. The biochemical pathway of photosynthesis in CAM plants begins at night
