I always prefer to travel by train because Indian Railway is well connected with all cities and we can easily communicate with other cities by railways.
But travel by bus is not comfortable and you cannot find any bus service that cover long distance.
We can use buses for inter-city travel and ship is rarely available in India. Ships have some restricted routs and you can travel by ship for recreational purpose.
