Convex lens is used in the case of hypermetropia.

If any person is unable to see near by object then convex lens is recommended.

Hypermetropia is defect of vision when The image is formed behind the retina

So a convex mirror of suitable focal length is used to correct as it converges the object on to retina and corrects the defect
