All the three types of meristem are responsible for the plant growth. The apical meristem for the length of shoot. The lateral meristem for the girth of the shoot and the third one for the length of root.

Hope this helps!!!

Hey, all the three meristems present in plants help for their growth. But they help in diff. ways

Apical and Intercalary meristems help in primary growth i.e., formation of primary plant body

Lateral meristems help in secondary growth i.e., radial growth.

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.
