When you touch a sensitive plant such as touch- me- not (Mimosa pudica), the plant folds its leaves and droops.

Here,  the plant only moves its leaves by simply folding them and no growth is involved, so it is an example of growth independent movement.

It is also known as thigmonastic movement.

When the leaves are touched, they fold down.
