Multiplying 2 negative integers
= -1 x -1
= 1
The result comes a positive integer.
=====================================
.:. - x - = +
It is rule that when you multiply a - sign with - or a negative integer with negative the result will be a positive integer
-2 x -2 = 4 (positive integer)
= -1 x -1
= 1
The result comes a positive integer.

Heya,
Generally when we multiply numbers have the same on either side we get the result as positive. Both the numbers may be negative or positive but the result will be positive.
For example:- -7 x -7 = 49
-2 x -2 = 4
Therefore we can conclude that when two numbers with same sign are multiplied the product is positive and when different signs are here the product is negative.
Hope it helps u..
