Under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi the Civil Disobedience Movement was launched. The Dandi march was also one such procession.

The British officials could not take any steps to stop the mass and hence arrested Gandhi and other leaders.

The mass got agitated on the arrest of their leaders and widespread demonstrations, strikes where started.

The movement was spread across the entire nation. At some places there were armed attacks at the government buildings.
