In the story "An Angel in disguise" the woman do not have a sound and pleasant relationship with others. She was not liked by the people of the village. Her bad behavior and habits of drinking led people do not have a likeness for her.

In the poem,since the woman was addicted to alcohol, she was an idle woman and also she was scoffed at and so she did not had a good image in front of other people.And so after her death news,pity took the place of anger and sorrow of denunciation.
