There is no direct relation between the number of stamens and petals .But stamens may be HAPLO STAMONOUS: in one whorl ,usually as many as the number of sepals or petals e.g. Solanum. In geranium sepals ,petals and stamens are in group of  of 5 that is 5 ,5 and 10 respectively ,also five compartments in ovary and five stigma branches .Possibilties are :
*Stamens can be fewer than petals or sepals
*can be same as petals or sepals
*can be more than petals and sepals
