What kind of roots does the equation 2x^2+4x-7=0 have

here is your answer:

in the equation 2x^2+4x-7=0 ; a=2, b=4 and c=-7

now, discriminant =b^2-4ac
d=4^2-(4)×(2)×(-7)=16-56=-40

the discriminant is negative i.e less than zero thus the root is not real.
