A secular state is a theory of secularism, whereby a state or country indicates to be authoritative impartial in subjects of faith and do not support any single religion. India is the example of the secular state because in India equal treatment is given to all faiths by the state. With the 42nd Amendment of the Constitution in 1976, India was proclaimed as a secular state and word secular is asserted to the preamble of Indian constitution.
