The author constantly compares his Uncle Podger to Harris and goes on to say that Harris in all probability would grow up to be like him. According to the author, they were quite similar, as they both were very boastful, both would profess their proficiency about tasks that they knew absolutely nothing about, they would both start doing things and bungle them in the end and apart from this they both were very stubborn and refused to listen to other people's helpful advice. Hence both of them were quite capable in causing a nuisance to those around them.
