The narrator did got a very bad reception at 46,Marconi Street and Mrs. Dorling refuses to even recognise her.

When the narrator reached at 46, Marconi Street, she was not received with a welcome note. Mrs. Dorling, at whose house the narrator was supposed to visit refused to recognize the narrator. She avoids to talk to the narrator and even refuses to talk to her about anything. It was the narrator who recognized the green cardigan of her mother which Mrs. Dorling was wearing.
