What kind of weather did the sailors enjoy at the beginning of their journey? How has it been expressed in the poem?

At the beginning of their journey, the mariners witnessed very nice and favourable weather conditions.

It was explained through the lines that the sun came up from the sea on the right and shone bright and went into the sea on the right.

Things like the church, the hill and the lighthouse top signify life, society and human lives, which becomes a bleak idea soon in the later part of the poem.

This means that it was good weather and they were going southward.
