  • Conventional Steel Wheels. The most common type of wheel that you will find is the standard steel rim wheel.

  • Modern Alloy Wheels. To reduce weight and improve strength, many modern wheels are made from alloys of lightweight materials.

  • Forged versus Cast Wheels.

  • Chrome Coated Wheels.

  • Bottom Line.

Answer:

The Last time i checked, 4. Then again, there have been 3- wheeled cars, like the Reliant Robin from Britain. Also, cars have a spare wheel in case of Punctures(unless this is rhetorical) :P . Buses can have upto 10 wheels, trucks upto 18 or more. Airplanes can have up to 36(at least the big Russian does have that much). Some of the giant american pick up trucks have 6 wheels. The Mercedes G-wagon has 6 massive wheels. 4 wheels means more stabitlity and better drivetrain. Anything above that depends on the type of vehicle :)
