What lavinia brought for hallock? Is that gift was liked by hallock why or why not?

Lavinia brought the Ouija board for hallock to help him write his stories but hallock doesn't seem to be happy with the gift because as he promised helen that he would not use ouija board and try to stop others to do so but here her wife is doing the same.
