The Maharaja knew the old saying that killing even a cow in self-defence was no sin. So, in order to save his own life and prove the astrological prediction wrong, he started shooting all his enemies, i.e. the tigers he found in the forests of his state and nearby regions.

An astrologer at the time of the king's birth predicted that the death of the king will be caused by a tiger, particularly by the Hundredth tiger. When the king came to know about this prediction, he began killing all the Tigers to prove the prediction false. Thus, the main reason for that led the king to hunt the tigers was the prediction of the astrologer.
