Chilika Lake is situated in Orissa and is amongst the biggest in the state.
The change in salinity balance and inflow and outflow conditions severely affected the lake and the lives of those around it.
This lead to considerable fall in aquatic life, as a result of which a number of fishermen lost their livelihood.
