What led to ethnic tension in belgium why was it more acute in brussels?

the minority French speaking community was relatively rich and powerful whish was resented by the Dutch speaking community as they got the benefit of the economic development and education much later. this led to tensions b/w both the communities. this tension was more acute in the capital city because the Dutch were in minority in Brussels.
