Subsistence crisis is a situation in which the basic needs of people are in danger.
In French the following situations led to subsistence crisis--:
⇒Population increased from 23 million in 1715 to 28 million in 1789.
⇒As population increased the demand for food grains also increased. So increase in demand of food grains also led to subsistence crisis.
⇒And laboures income was fixed by the owner of the shops but that income doesn't keep pace with the increasing demand of food grains and the risen prices
⇒And when any natural disaster came the crops were destroyed which added fuel to fire.
