There were many reasons for the declination of the textile industries of India within the 19th century.


After the industrial revolution, Britain started to produce textiles in factories those were of better quality and comparatively cheaper than textiles of India.


Britain also passed various laws to ban the import of textiles from India.


The British Government stopped to support India.
