At the time of middle the rich were given more freedom than the poor. This led to the formation of social clubs. The jacobins club was one of the most famous successful club at that time. it comprises the less prosporous sections of the society. The members of the jacobins club were called sans culottes. The sans culottes actually mean those without knee breachers. The knee breachers are something that the rich persons wear to show themselves fashionable. The people of the members did not wear knee breachers and hence they were called as sans culottes.
