The mughals used to invite artisans, artists and architects from Persia and central Asia to design and decorate their places , mosques and mausoleums . Such artists worked along with Indian artists . The result was fusion of Indian artistic traditions which is known as Indo-Islamic art.

The royal patronage proved helpful in growth and development of Persian literature of great merit , consisting of poetry , prose , historical works and translations.
