The real reasons leding for partition were=
1) Bengal was the nerve of Indian nationalism.
2) Britishers wanted to reduce Bengali to the minority in both the provinces
3)By the acceptance to the divide and rule policy, fostering the division on the basis of the religion in which Hindus were provided west bengal and Muslim were given east bengal.
The reason given by government was that bengal was too big province with the area of 489,500 Sq. Km and thickly populated with 80 million people, so it was not efficiently managed by the British government
