some reforms by the British that the Indians resented :-

1. abolishment of social reformers like Sati by the British. The they felt that the British were not allowing them to follow their society is customs.

2. the new law that promoted the conversion to Christianity. This log made non-christian Indians feel that the British was trying to suppress their religion. According to the law, a person who embrace the Christianity religion was unable to receive his ancestors property.

3. Biting of the greased cartridge cover of the Enfield rifle for loading. The greased covered was supposed to be greased with the meat of cows and pigs. It was against the cultural practice of Hindus and Muslim to eat meat.

all these reforms are more and more by the British triggered civil unrest among the Indians and paved the way for the great revolt of 1857.
