The lesson which the king learnt at the end of the story​ is-" The appropriate people to listen to at any given time are the right people to listen to, and the most essential thing to do is to do good for them, because that is why man was sent to the world in the first place".

The story -"The Needy King and a Sage"

The hermit  in the story tells the king that all the answers are within ourself. As by helping the wounded man and by spending time with the hermit he got to know the answer to his questions which he got through self-realization. Without thinking about own-self, he  learned to do good to others.

Moral of the story-

We all should learn to be happy with what we have. There are those who may not have what we have, and there will be some who have lots more than we have. Yes, we all desire more or better than we already have, but do not waste a chance of enjoying what we already have. We should not always compare ,we should  be happy and lead a healthy life.
