A story's message, or theme, is what the author wants to teach you through his or her writing. Some stories have a specific kind of message called a moral, or a life lesson. You can find the message of a story by looking at the characters' actions and focusing on what is repeated throughout the story.

The question is answered below-

1. The lesson we received from the short story, The last leaf, written by O. Henry is very precious and realistic. It was a lesson that is to be remembered for our entire lives.

2. The lesson concisely conveys that life is precious more than one thinks it to be. It is short and valuable and one should live to the fullest.

3. Life is filled with unexpected events and one should cherish them every day.

4. There will be disappointments, failures, setbacks, hindrances, interruptions, hurdles, restraints, and situations that will be tough to tackle but life is all about ups and downs. One should keep fighting with an optimistic mindset rather than repenting over those.

Note- The story was not mentioned so the lesson acquired from the story 'The last leaf ' is given.
