What long lasting effect did the Aryans have on India?

19th century a theory evolved claiming that ancient India was conquered by people called as Aryans and their invasion was a turning point in evolution of Indian civilization.  

Scholars had debated that Aryans influences was fiery and gives proof with origins of two most remarkable features of Indian civilization.

As per this theory Aryans were white-skinned or light-skinned people that invaded India from north bringing their beliefs and social organization along with them.  

Particularly they thought to have brought Vedic religion which eventually give germinal elements for Hinduism and prevailing faith throughout Indian sub-continent.
