In world history, the post-Cold war era is the period from the Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991 till the present.

After the cold war had ended, there have been major changes in the global power structure and the relations in between the nations.

One of the big changes that happened was the collapse of USSR, giving birth to Russia as a successor state.

The Warsaw pact came to an end. The USA became a supreme global power, with uncertainty on the domestic political front. China also rose from being a developing country to a relatively stronger state. The dependence of other countries on the USA for economic issues made them weaker states.

Environmentalism and recycling became a commendable concern.
