There are countries where elections are held but they cannot be called democratic elections. The minimum conditions of a democratic election: that is Political parties and candidates should be free to contest elections giving the voters a real choice. Elections should be held at regular intervals.

democracy is a system of governing by which the representitive members are elected by all the eligible members of the society.

election gives us the right to elect or select the able members of the society to govern our nation and the citizen.

on the contrary monarchy doesnt allow the people to select their representatives . it follows hierarchy i.e the descendants of the present ruler becomes the next monarch.
