In Democracy power is given to people and exercised by them or their elected agents under an electoral system.

Lincoln told democratic government is "Of, by and for the people."

Freedom and democracy are used interchangeably but two aren't synonymous.

Democracy is a group of ideas and principles regarding freedom but it consists of set of practices and process that is moulded through long and tortuous history.

Democracy is freedom of voting also same for all castes.
