Elections in India are considered democratic because of the following reasons:

Every citizen has been given a right to vote i.e. to choose their representative, without discrimination and their vote being considered equal. It offers the citizens and parties to content elections freely and fairly.

Free and fair elections are the best way to ensure the 100 percent participation of the people living in the country. As elections give a chance to every citizen to choose their own elected representatives who go on to form the the Governing body of the particular state or the country.

In elections every person has a right to cast vote , a vote which is to be casted in a ballot box or EVMs or the Electronic Voting Machines. The vote consists of the details such as the candidate's name and his political symbol.

After the voting process, all the votes are counted and the results are made available to the public. Hence, in this procedure, by the people, of the people, for the people, all the directives of democracy are followed, hence elections are the best way to ensure democracy in a country.

Thank you
