There are some people on this earth ,who inspire the world in their own ways! Born in a small town, Rameswaram, this genius has reached heights, that even multi millionaires, born with a silver spoon have not reached! There are very few people who still manage to maintain their sense of simplicity, after achieving greater heights in life. One of them being Dr. KALAM, Once the Professor of Anna University, then the Scientist of ISRO and DRDO, the President of India, but always, A humble, down to earth Human being! He was surely the people's President!
A multifaceted personality, with great interest in Carnatic music, Writing poems, Writing books, his interest in literature, is simply commendable! I have had the chance of reading Mr. Kalam's autobiography, Wings of fire and found the book, absolutely interesting! He was rejected in the Indian Air Force, and missed the chance of becoming a flying Pilot, the reason, why we have the Missile Man with us now!
While the President of India, Mr. Kalam, set various examples to forthcoming Presidents. He entered the Rashtrapathi Bhavan with just 2 suitcases and left the Bhavan with the same number of belongings. When his family had visited New Delhi and stayed in the Rashtrapthi bhavan, Mr. Kalam, settled a bill of 2.5 lakhs, for their stay and food, out of his earnings. I have read and heard, that the cooks and servants in the Rashtrapathi Bhavan always, praised his way of life, which serves us an example of simplicity. His dream and vision of India by 2020, is not a dream. His speeches and his interaction with youth, seems to pave the way towards the glorious 2020 that we all are aiming at!
What made me start a thread on this beautiful person is, I happened to watch an interview of Dr. kalam, on Sun TV a couple of days back, and I was simply stunned by the humbleness this great person delivers! He was interviewed, by the Tamil actor, Mr. Sivakumar. Dr. Kalam, throughout his interview was very composed and humble in his answers. While it was Sivakumar, who was supposed to be questioning Dr. Kalam, it happened the other way round. Dr. Kalam, appreciated and praised, Sivakumar for his interests in literature and that was so touching and so heartwarming! All his answers were so beautifully delivered and so meaningfully framed! When, asked, his 3 happiest moments, all moments that he mentioned were about his dream children, The missiles! Isn't that great? When I watch some interviews of film heroines who have acted just 1 film, the hype that they create and the arrogance that they display, just irritates the viewers.
Some people are born great, One of them, Dr. Kalam, I salute and simply admire him for his humbleness and simplicity! We have a lot to learn from him
Former president APJ Abdul Kalam, also known as 'People's president', was highly respected for his Humility and generosity. When his subordinate wanted to leave early one day to take his children to a science museum, he immediately permitted him. However, the subordinate got occupied with work and couldn't leave early from his office. When he reached home, he found out that Dr. Kalam himself took his children to the museum. Dr. Kalam always valued the work of others and reciprocated their efforts.
He used to write his thank you cards himself.
