Explanation:

“History is an unending dialogue between the present and the past.” -

~ E.H. Carr

History is the study of the past . It is the discovery, collection, and storing of information about the events that happened  long ago.

Human memory is mostly fallible, and is thus prone to errors and distortions. Hence, people started to record events to hand down to posterity for one reason or another. Generally, there are two ways to describe history - chronological descriptions of historical accounts and biographical descriptions of events.

Chronological records are a  way to study history by putting events in the order as they happened- In sketches of  influential people, such as kings and princes, heroes and conquerors, and inventors and innovators.

What is important is to create an analytic view of history, while trying to verify the authenticity of records, and find out the nature of events. Lastly, it is also important to determine correlations among events, people, and geographical locations.

As a major part of the humanities, history helps us to learn about human civilization, and achieve human development from a long-term perspective by using the studies of the past. Deciphering history by region, or understanding significant historical figures one by one could be a wise way to whip up interest in the study of history.
