Hot air is lighter than cold air due to its specific gravity. Its density also seems to be much lesser than cold air.Hence hot air rises.

7878: Plz tell me what is specific gravity??
hihi1: The specific gravity ("Sp.G.") of a liquid tells you how much more or less dense the liquid is than water. Water has a specific gravity of 1.000 (near 4°C). If a liquid is more dense than water, then its specific gravity is greater than 1. If it is less dense than water, then the specific gravity is less than 1. To calculate the specific gravity of a liquid, you have to know its density. Take the density of the liquid, divided by the density of water (1 gm/cm3), and you will get the specifi

hot air is lighter is lighter and is less denser which makes it rise

7878: Thank you vry much!
7878: Is specific gravity similar to relative density??
hihi1: yes!
hihi1: plz cn u give me best answer
hihi1: coz i need to go to next position.
